The Relationships between Self-Efficacy and Compliance of Patient in Hemodiafiltration

Abstract
|
|
|
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the group of Self-efficacy and the group of compliance of patient in hemodiafiltration.
methods:The study involved 100 patients undergoing hemodiafiltration between April and May, 2005 from 5 hospital in G province. The questionnaires used for measuring Self-efficacy, self-reported compliance of patient. Physiological indicators include pre-dialysis serum potassium level, pre-dialysis serum phosphorus level, inter-dialytic weight gain. The data were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 program with percentage and canonical correlation.
Results: In the relationship between the self-efficacy domain and the compliance of patient domain, the main influencing factors were efficacy expectations(-.713), self-reported compliance of patient(-.870).
Conclusion: These results suggest that nurses should provide the cognitive behavioral support, especially focusing in increasing the level of self efficacy.
